Kate Sylvester: A Tableau of Living Mannequins
By Mari Davis

SYDNEY, May 9, 2003/ FW/ --- Kate Sylvester's show for Spring 2004 is theatrical. As the models emerged on the runway, they took their specified place on the catwalk, reminding you of the broadway show, "A Chorus Line."

There was no singing and dancing of course. Rather, it looked like a silent tableau of living mannequins dressed in monochramic beige, silver, aqua, and lavender.

"Pretty cool" comes to mind as a description for this catwalk show.

And the clothes are pretty cool too.

From shorts to miniskirt, from day dresses to evening wear, Kate Sylvester's minimalist approach to dressing is prominent.

Simple, clean lines defind the slim silhouettes presented.

And following the trend that came out of Paris during the Fall 2003 season, Kate Sylvester sent her models wearing tights, leggings and hose.
