Kate Sylvester: For A Cool Summer

SYDNEY, May 5, 2005/ FW/ --- When Kate Sylvester does Spring and Summer, she means it! Sundresses, one-piece swimsuits, beach wraps and shorts – every piece was designed to keep you cool during hot weather.

Not into trends, Sylvester’s eclectic collection ranged from solids to prints to stripes, with the swimsuits right out of the turn of the 20th century while the shorts can be the 1960s hot pants.

Flowing sundresses in spaghetti straps, that double as beach wraps are practical and multi-purpose.

Yet, it was in the cocktail dresses that Sylvester excelled, with rolled hems and asymmetrical finishes. Great for watching the sunset with a drink in one hand while the other holds the hand of your significant other.
