SYDNEY, May 6, 2003/ FW/ --- Leona Edmiston's Spring 2004 collection is all
about frocks, which is not surprising at all since the label's name is "Frocks."
Showing her second collection for this newly launched label with the Sydney Opera
House as a dramatic backdrop, Leona Edmiston continued to express the simple
philosophy of Frocks - 'the focus is on the dress.'
With jersey and georgette as the fabric of choice, Leona Edmiston sent fluid dresses
which are draped, gathered, sheathed or ruffled on the runway.
It was feminine allure personified.
The designer also sent the models wearing hats, decorated with feathers, reminiscent of
the swinging 1920s.
Though this are not period pieces, and actually very modern, this exuberant and vivacious
collection can be worn in a 'Swing Dance' competition or gathering.
If ever Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin of the 'Strictly Ballroom' and 'Moulin Rouge' fame,
decide to collaborate again on a movie featuring the swing dances, Leona Edmiston should be
on top of the list of designers they should approach.
