London Fashion Week Fall 2005
LONDON, Feb 17, 2005/ FW/ --- I do not know if the daily showers of precipitation or the 6 degree Celsius weather is making the dismal foreign press happy to get out of town. Or maybe it is the fact that 1 U.S. dollar is valued at a measly .53 pence of the Queen’s pound… But whatever the reason Thank Heavens it’s Thursday…
Seriously, this fashion week has given London more hope than many other fashion seasons in the recent past. With major financial backers like American Express, GHD, ICD and Top Shop supporting young London designers, London’s fashion future does not look so bleak.
As long as these designers stay to their roots of style and creativity and stray away from Americanized commercialization then we will be more obliged to visit this royal island. And with the new Royal family member coming, it will give us more sites to see during the already strained week.
At this point nothing can excite you after you have seen futuristic motifs on Victorian girls and seen high street fashions on Men from Mars.
Now the fashion clan must hike it over to Milan to be filled with at least good cuisine, but with some of the same frigid weather without the precipitation.
