Davies: Bringing Out The Woman In You

LOS ANGELES, Apr 13, 2004/FW/ -- Last week at the Smashbox Studios, Davies previewed her Fall 2004 collection by showing a video of her designs using eight (8) scenes with 18 designs.

The setting is out in the dessert close enough to the foothill to detect some snow that had fallen on the ground and the wind brushing the models hair as they walk and turn about the surrounding instead of the catwalk.

It’s evident from the collection that this young designer has been around the block and so she has. Davies has designed for Alley Capellino, Marc Jacobs, Richard Tyler and MaxMara not to mention the fact that this Welsh native graduated with first-class honors from London’s prestigious Central St. Martins College of Art and Design in 1995.

The designer chose silk, satin, jersey and cotton to highlight her collection and in the words of Erica Davies, “someplaces on earth are beautifully appealing and creatively stimulating. The extreme nature of landscape from different places on earth have created a visual stimulation of shape, texture and color for this collection.”

The video opened with a black moleskin trench coat matched with a silk satin and jersey studded bib top worn over a black stretch cotton skinny pant with zipper details on both knees.

Other eye pleasers are the peacock green front tie studded backless jersey dress, the mauve silk jersey front paneled studded halter dress and using the same concept is a peacock green back tie studded long sleeve jersey top and the mauve long sleeve jersey/chiffon studded paneled top that can be matched up with one of Davies’ cotton wide leg pant or skinny pant.

The lines and silhouettes of her designs can sure bring out the woman in you so don’t any of you forget to watch out for this very hip and sexy designs when stores open the door to the Fall 2004 collections.
