LOS ANGELES, Mar 20, 2006/ FW/ --- Donna Baxter showed a very 1930-1940’s inspired pieces highlighting 35 exits consisting mainly of eveningwear.

Using a very warm and inviting color palette of icy lavender, sterling, aquamarine, twilight, blue diamond, gold bullion and mixing it up with scarlet red.

The choice of luxe fabrics in satin face organza, silk charmeuse, silk twill, parfait cotton, cashmere, plush alpaca, panne velvet, silk brocade, silk satin, knit wool, silk chiffon, lace and satin crepe worked very well with the entire collection.

Details came by way of delicate petal layering, ruffles, sheared mink collars & buttons, diamante buttons, tiers of ostrich feather, ribbon sash, cashmere trim, draping and tiers of tulle as well as tulle overlay and tulle petticoat.

Donna Baxter created sensual pieces in her bias cut inset mermaid gown of gold bullion panne velvet, cap sleeve blouse of long hair mink in whiskey, bias inset mermaid ball skirt of rouge silk brocade as well as her cowl back halter mini dress of scarlet silk velvet with ostrich feather tiers.

While her Bordeaux tulle petticoat and parfait tulle petticoat seemingly gave that very light and airy feel to a few of the pieces.

Other standouts include the signature drape front bias gown in rouge silk velvet with painted gold roses, flapper dress of nude silk chiffon & silver crystal bead swags, the sheath gown of orchid empress silk satin with mini panniers of tulle and the epic ball gown of empress satin & horsehair with endless tiers of tulle.
