LOS ANGELES, Mar 24, 2006/ FW/ --- Turning a little philosophical this season, Kristopher Enuke designing under the label Oligo Tissew entitled his collection, ‘Medieval – A Parallel World’ alluding to the idea that although mankind’s civilization has evolved a lot since the Middle Ages, there are still similarities and parallelism in today’s manner of dressing from the medieval era.

Known for his urban wear and denim line, Enuke took classical elements like ajouré or openwork on seams and high wide collars, then incorporated them to very modern silhouettes like jeans and day jackets creating a beautiful blend of the contemporary with antiquity.

Leather trench coats were cut slim, but with a relaxed fit. Featuring double collars, similar to the costumes of medieval barons, the architecturally structured lines is a testimony to Enuke’s tailoring skills.

Trousers were pencil thin, including the pageboy and Capri length varieties. Paired with oversized cashmere sweaters and elongated cashmere cardigans, it’s the metro girl dream.

Alternating between denim, cashmere and leather, Enuke kept his collection within his theme. Everything gelled. Denim jackets and jeans were perfect matches for the knitwear. The leather coats and jackets were worn on top of cashmere and denim.

So, when he took his bow and received a standing ovation from the audience, it was well-earned and deserving!
