LOS ANGELES, Oct 20, 2005 / FW / - It may have been said more than once in the past, but it simply needs to be addressed again. It’s such a shame to see the early shows with very little attendance. Especially for the talented designers who have put a lot of hard work creating a very good collection like Kelly Nishimoto.
Nishimoto started with custom corsets since she felt it represents everything that is beautiful about a woman, according to her press notes.
She also said that fashion has no soul. That she saw fashion as an art form and she took the time to make sure that whomever is wearing it, each piece represented its new owner truly and fully.
And after just two years, her corsets have been worn by a number of A-list celebs such as Demi Moore, Gwen Stefani and even Dave Navarro, just to name a few.
With the 29 looks shown, she captured and showed the ease of dressing down and dressing up by simply putting on the ever hot and sexy stilettos for that red carpet ready look.
She used soft luxe fabrics of mainly stretch silk as well as vintage T-shirt in hues of light blue, and pink as well as grey and champagne.
Kelly Nishimoto added bling by using Swarovski crystal buttons while adding an organic feel by using abalone shells.
Details by way of ruche pockets, some in heart shape in the front or back of a hooded dress to an ever comfort giving draw string palazzo style pants.
Pleat details on the back of a skirt and lace that runs down the side of the pants seeming like a tuxedo pant piping.
But of course, not forgetting what drew this designer to this lovely collection, her corsets were shown with Japanese embroidery.
Congratulations on a good show and a great collection, Kelly Nishimoto. FW looks forward to seeing your next show!
