LOS ANGELES, Apr 7, 2003/ FW/ --- The entire Louis Verdad collection was based on 1940s style
clothing and watching it was like stepping back in time - only better.
Rarely is clothing so remarkably masculine and strikingly feminine at the same time as was
this collection.
From snug streamlined pinstripe suits to skirts with ruffles and lace, all of Louis Verdad's
collection had a classical beauty that was amazing to behold.
The colors presented were warm browns, grays, blacks and maroons.
Loose knit sweaters were attractive while maintaining marvelous fluidity.
A great black polka dot dress with a sheer white overskirt was playful and a tremendous
hit with attendees.
And Louis Verdad's smart stone grey flare leg pants were incredible with side buttons
that stretched up to the knee.
Speaking of buttons - One olive green multi-layered ruffle dress with black tulle and
printed silk had two great lines of decorative buttons running up both the front and back
and nearly brought down the house so to speak.
The Fall 2003 collection is eye-catching and exquisitely detailed.
It is also sure to be popular with anyone with affection for vintage style clothing.
The only drawback to the collection is that it has the look of clothing designed only to
look good on tall, thin model-like figures.
