NEW YORK, Feb 7, 2004/ FW/ --- At Maurice Malone’s show, we took seats in anticipation of seeing
Miss Universe 1999 who was scheduled to model in the show.
True to hype, she appeared first in a moss boucle cozy coat
and there followed a funky collection of men and women’s arctic-slash-jeans collection.
There was a beautiful olive pony coat with red lining, a men’s long haired goat coat, a
cornflower blue mink vest, pure hippie seventies autumn check leather jeans, camouflage pony
boots and criss-cross stitch camel lace up pants. All very Lenny Kravitz.
There were great details like leather pads on pants that started above the knees and elbows.
My two favorite outfits were shown on women; a silk lilac sequin halter with lilac hair short
cape that was really a bikini and a shrug in one worn with very pale cornflower blue pants and
hot pink spike shoes and the cornflower blue mink vest worn with blue pebble tweed pant with
rhinestone stilettos twinkling out.
To me, these were looks that screamed ‘if you are stepping out raunchy rock n’ roll, at least
stay feminine.’
