SYDNEY, May 10, 2001/ FW/ --- Michelle Jank's Spring 2002 show wins the 'sexiest clothes'
award hands down, if someone is giving that award during the Australian Fashion Week.
Held at the Fox Studios, Michelle Jank seemed to have hired the tallest, leanest and
sexiest models around at the Australian subcontinent.
Playing up their 'roles' to the hilt, the mdoels sashayed ... (yes... sashayed and not walk)
down the runway, pausing to pout and pose coquettishly to the delight of the audience.
The designer used antique fabrics
then reworked them into finely fitted and finished dresses and tops with ragged jumbles of
excess fabric draped and trailing in side bustles.
Exotic silks and laces, a faded miniature Australian flag, fragments of old flour
bags and a crocheted baby's shawl were among the treasures.
Zig-zagged hemlines were scooped high to the crutch and dipped low at the back and sides.
Long, shredded tendrils of lace and silk whipped around the models' ankles in a look of "ship-wrecked chic"
with a sexy, womanly edge.
Sexy is... as sexy does...
