MILAN, Jan 12, 2005/ FW/ -- Ennio Capasa is not only partly responsible for putting shape back into menswear and redefining the silhouette, but this zealous Mediterranean southern born Italian is also a self acclaimed dancer whose preferred US dining haunt is in Los Angeles, and who knows, maybe its all those discos that are the key attraction!

His autumn winter 2005 menswear show for is scheduled for this Sunday and apart from being indisputably beautiful, it will no doubt be divinely accessorized, because this is exactly what is destined to be the next big trend in menswear according to Capasa ”just because one is a man this is no reason to be boring, more jewels and extravagance”.

Yet as men become more attentive in what they wear as a result of living in the age of communication leading to sensitivity in aesthetics, conventionality is still very much present according to Capasa.

Bringing us to the age-old saying, don’t judge a book by its cover, resulting in clothes becoming not only a uniform for inner expression but often used as a form of escapism ‘people can now also lie though clothes’.

Costume National is growing constantly, and while continuing to open new stores on a regular basis and with already eight boutiques spread over the globe from New York and Los Angeles to Tokyo and Hiroshima, the man at the end of the catwalk still manages to find time to curate art, modern design and dabble in music.

Thus said, being sensible to the arts, just how important is art and technology in today’s fashion world?

”Not enough probably. Compared to the past, ready-to-wear trends tend to be pretty conservative. The risk is to lose touch with the new generations that are growing up with sneakers and technical garments like snowboarding and cycling gear.”

Multi talented and with firm foundations in authenticity, Ennio Capasa is a strong believer in family values, therefore how does he remain focused on design, inspiration and ethics this label is based on?

”I stay true to myself and to Costume National Ennio Capasa, a project that after so many years has a well defined character of its own.”

Others have defined this man as; Dickenson like, gentlemanly, a rover, rigorous tailor and one of the most creative minds in fashion, and who can fault them, as he continues to define and refine chic modern urban styles, the man is simply great at his job.
