Maurizio Pecoraro: Out of Africa
By Randal Jacobs
MILAN, Oct 1, 2004 /FW/ --- Mixtures of golden maize and tan in stone print were ever present at Maurizio Pecoraro.
Fresh face models wore grandma chic apparel throughout the show. Fur collars lined coats and tops in large graphic stone prints.
Ivory, straw, pumpkin, cinnamon and agave were Pecoraro’s colour palate. Layering affects included dull sequin skirts under chiffon skirts paired with cropped sweaters in pink pale and chocolate.
Silk knickers and tulle skirts in mint green were styled with large wooden beads. Collars and hems were embroidered with diamantes and lace.
Sophisticated prints of giraffe, flowers and sliced slogs were significant style details. Vedoras and large woven hand bags gave the collection a more summery style for the hot African coasts.
The collection changed with pure elegance as tunic dresses and kaftan gowns entered. Chiffon jewellery and sequin jackets were added to evening looks.
Pocketed sheer gowns in lovely hues could be opted for bathing suit covers and they were worn with platform woven and leather sandals.
With nature as Maurzio Pecoraro decorations this designer redefined a women’s silhouette.
