Milan Menswear Show Fall 2006

MILAN, Jan 16, 2006/ FW/ --- It was ‘Saturday Night Fever,’ it was ‘vogueing’ during the 1980s, the club scene during the 1990s with the DJ booth as the main attraction… It was Carlo Pignatelli Outside Fall 2006 menswear preview, a statement of youthful exuberance and excess from the past three decades.
A big disco ball hung from the ceiling, with neon lights on the stage and also on the stairs that served as backdrop. There was a live DJ playing music, from the disco era to today’s rock & roll.
It was a true party scene, complete with champagne and waiters serving the guests while waiting for the show. And when the show started, the music became louder, as it announced the models strutting on the runway.
Tuxedo jackets for the formal group with colors ranging from black to electric blue; suit jackets were also seen, a refreshed silhouette of John Travolta’s dancing costume in ‘Saturday Night Fever.’
Then the rock & roll group came out – leather jackets, sequined suits and everything in-between.
It was about the vibrancy of the youth, excessive at times. But, who can blame them? At their age, they believe that the world is at their feet.
Carlo Pignatelli Outside was very successful in capturing spirit while also coming out victorious in melding three decades into one.
