MILAN, Feb 19, 2006/ FW/ --- You know its fashion week when the Coca Cola bottles are also dressed up like the ‘Love Therapy’ Coca Cola Light (diet coke) designed by Elio Fiorucci that are being served in restaurants and sold in grocery stores here in Milan.

Perhaps this limited edition Coke bottle was meant for Valentine’s Day. With all the hearts and the stars in it, this could be meant for lovers.

No matter what the reason for being of this cute and lovable Diet Coke bottle is, it still remains a testimony on why Coca Cola is the most recognizable brand in the world.

The Coke brand is actually over 100 years old. But instead of getting stale, it continues to reinvent itself, while keeping the original Coca Cola and the trademark intact.

This is not the first time that Coca Cola has commissioned a fashion designer to design its bottle. In Paris, a year or so ago, Coke bottles were sporting a Kenzo design.

Maybe, we should learn from Coca Cola in keeping the trademark and the product fresh. With the menswear season over, and as this is the third city for the fall 2006 womenswear season, it is already safe to say that although some fashion brands have moved forward, others have become stagnant showing the same thing over and over again.

Fashion like Coca Cola is a ‘whim’ for the consumer. As always, there are a lot of choices out there. By the mere fact that Coca Cola has stayed on top of its game for the past 100 years means that it is doing something right.

Perhaps, we should follow its example. After all, it is a multi-billion dollar company and the trademark Coca Cola alone is worth billions.
