MILAN, Sep 30, 2006/ FW/ --- Malloni decided to do an unconventional show at the Milan Fashion Centre this season. With large white meteorite balls on the stage and hanging in the background, they tried to put on a show that transported you to outer space.

With lights dimming several times as eerie space music hummed throughout the room models crept out in the dark and only started moving again when the lights flashed on.

With blue lips, black hairpiece headbands, and thick black frames the models were not done up to be beautiful. The clothes that ranged in mostly blacks, were accented by green leggings and dabs of violets and blues. The exits consisted of many small pieces tucked and gathered to create abstract outfits.

Taking the literal meaning of Bohemian as ‘artists or writers who were disenchanted people that wanted to live a non-traditional lifestyle’, the collection was very Bohemian.

The clothes were loose and untraditional. Taking inspiration from the traditional Japanese wardrobe, pants were large and undefined much like those matching the male kimono. Tops also showed strong kimono influences that were contrasted with alien style accessories.

The thick wedged platforms were made of connected leather straps that finished high on the calf as green leggings underneath worked as stockings and could also be seen up to the waist, under black laces and chiffons. Belts at the waist looked as if they were made of thick ponytails of hair.

The outfits looked deconstructed in a clean way. Edges were finished and good tailoring was evident in tight fighting jackets. One leather piece was especially beautiful in the was it’s lapels seemed to create a butterfly shape in the contrast tan inside colour of the brown leather.

Madonna pointy bra’s in black poked out under sheers and roamed free under large cardigans. The collection was defiantly very artistically creative and it gets point for being “bohemian”.
