Looks of Milan Fashion Week
DALLAS, Mar 8, 2001/ -- Industrial Milan, with its historic past and
today's technology plus smog. Fashion capital for luxury goods.
Milan Fashion Week is a
frenzy, a feast for a fashionista's eyes where you see fashion not only on the runways,
but also on the streets.
For the shop-a-holics, its heaven, for fashion editors and
photographers, its long hours of work, from sunrise to the wee hours of the night.
Here are the look at the collections:
Fendi ---
"It’s back to the future at Fendi, where Karl Lagerfeld delivered a slick
collection for Fall 2001, almost exclusively in white."
Versace -- "After the latest start to a fashion show in eons, Donatella Versace presented an opulent, luxurious
collection Wednesday in Milan that temporarily made the fashion gathering forget the miserable
Milan climate."
Giorgio Armani ---
"Giorgio Armani is not about inventing anything new. Instead, it's about
maintaining perfection. And that's what the master Italian designer did once again this afternoon with
his Fall 2001 collection."
Gucci by Tom Ford -- "The return of the right in
fashion received a further boost in a Gucci show that was one of the most conservative Tom Ford
has yet designed. "
Missoni -- "Missoni is known for taking wild
geometric weaves and knits and zigzagging them this way and that. Sometimes they flow together
in a seamless message that is kind to the eye. Other times, the result is dizzying. "
Prada -- " Conservatism is back, not only on the political stage.
Tonight Miuccia Prada, who today made The Wall Street Journal's 30 Most Powerful Women in Europe list, presented
a collection of Puritan clothes that were so austere they'd make First Lady and former school teacher Laura Bush
look glam.
