  • Milan: Shopper's Paradise

MILAN, Feb 20, 2004/ FW/ --- Milan, Italy’s second largest and financial capital is also synonymous with fashion, style and cutting edge design.

Home to the world’s best known labels – Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Prada, Versace, to name a few, browsing in Milan’s Corso Como and Via Manzoni is a shopper’s paradise.

And don’t forget the Duomo, the third largest Catholic cathedral in the world, which is technically the center of Milan.

Just as the Empire Estate Building dominate Manhattan’s midtown; the Duomo dominates central Milan.

The Italians are born with style, as if it is almost part of their genetics. And the Milanese as a group just oozes with it. Maybe it’s the way they dress, or their lifestyle, but when you are in Milan, you cannot help yourself to be emerged in fashion.

So it is logical that the Milan Womenswear Show, held twice a year, is an important date not only to the city but also to the fashion world.

Milan holds as much weight as Paris, if not more, when it comes to fashion. And on February 21 – March 1, the fashion world descends to Milan.

Retail buyers, journalists, photographers and the fashionistas go to Milan to witness the unveiling of the Fall 2004 collections by more than 120 designers.
