Morrissey: Clean Cut Fashion

PERTH, May 12, 2004 – He likes to be called Mr. Morrissey, has important fashion friends
and is a big fish when it comes to Australian fashion, but can Mr. Morrissey compete
on an international level?
Helena Christensen sat front row, yet Qantas girls stood at the gate (he has just designed
their new uniforms)!?
Little dress wearing, heel bearing fashion trendiest turned out to get a glimpse of what
Sydney’s favorite boy Morrissey was proposing for summer 2004/05.
He didn’t get off to a great start as far as lateness and bad organization of his PR people
are concerned, with the added stress of dealing with seating plan mishaps is all
the more tedious with an already tired audience and an introduction that goes on for too long.
Sending out men’s and women’s looks of crisp white and diamante detailed skirts and jackets,
floral and Hawaii motifs for his men, while his slick haired and red lipped ladies wore
Pucci inspired kaleidoscope prints of blues and pinks before touching on Paul Smith stripes.
Night fever is reserved for pinstripes, silk georgette, strapless Marilyn dresses and satin
tuxedos.
All aside and in quiet reflection, it is easy to see why Mr. Morrissey is hugely successful
in Australia with buyers snapping up his looks of clean-cut fashion that is wearable and
more importantly sellable.
