LOS ANGELES, Apr 1, 2004/ FW/ --- Octavio Carlin played on every woman’s fantasy of dressing up for a night out in town for his Naqada Fall 2004 collection when he presented luxe gowns, skirts and dresses worthy of a gal who wants to paint the town red.
Mini satin wrap skirts, navel-baring short crop vests that work as blouses and spaghetti-strap gowns satisfy a woman’s need to dress up, whether it’s for a casual date or just to have fun with the girls.
Standouts in the collection were wool and cashmere jacket worn over a wrap dress with golden rust collar, the blue velvet short slash-sleeve worn over wool orange pants and the silk golden rust velvet tux dress with wide white collar detail.
Carlin’s innovative approach of using plastic straps to hold a dress together garnered him fans among the audience.
Almost invisible, the outfit looked like it was floating, and if you are not sitting at the front row where you can see the clothes closer, you will have to ask yourself, “what is holding that dress together?”
Interesting to note – shocking pink and vivid blue stockings were paired with the cute mini dresses.
The Naqada woman is not afraid to be seen, though her highest priority is just to have some fun.
