LOS ANGELES, Oct 18, 2005 / FW / - Octavio Carlin drew his inspiration from the renewed interest in Film Noir with the movie “Sin City” as mentioned on his press notes to showcase the Naqada Spring 2006 collection showing 41 exits in all.
Seductive and sexy pieces from bustier top, tuxedo pants, skirts, dresses and gowns that highlighted a woman’s silhouette with the use of rouch and pleat detailing in all the right places.
Using luxe fabrics such as washed silk, silk charmeuse, wool, silk chiffon, rayon, and silk jersey and the addition of delicate gold “Peacock” print and gold embroidery on some of the pieces shown.
The skirts and dresses were shown in both uneven and asymmetrical hemlines as well as halter style and an ultra low cowl back and the piping on the tuxedo pants were rouched for an extra added detail. Carlin also used layering and draping giving enhancing the pieces in all the right places.
Well structured and sculpted pieces paraded down one right after the added as the models seem to have seduced the entire photographer’s pit.
Standouts include the “City” dress in black silk jersey and the “Yellow B. Sin” gown in white washed silk with gold “Peacock” print both worn by Eva (America’s Next Top Model) as well as the “Bianca Sin” gown in red four-ply silk, red silk chiffon, and pleated red silk charmeuse.
