Nicola Finetti: Sensuality in a Modern Silhouette

A native of Bari, a town in Southern Italy, Nicola Finnetti first love was architecture, earning a degree in the field in Rome and built his design career in Buenos Aires.

When he arrived in Sydney in 1982, the native Italian speaker found that it was hard to be an architect when you barely speak the language.

Call it the loss of the architectural world and the gain of the fashion world, Finnetti found himself studying fashion design and marketing fashion from the likes Richard Tyler and Romeo Gigli from a co-owned boutique in Sydney's eastern suburbs.

And in 1995, the Nicola Finneti label was born!

Using his knowledge of architecture, Finnetti started designing clothes where fabrics are the focus of his designs. Known for his modern yet mysterious and ultra feminine looks, the clothes are a study of precision and construction.

His design philosophy: "To create for women who can show sensuality in a modern silhouette."
