SYDNEY, May 9, 2001/ FW/ --- Someone once said, the farther you are away from your homeland, the more vivid its memories stay inside you.

Nicola Finetti, and Italian expat who has been living in Australia for almost a decade must be thinking of Italy when he designed his Spring 2002 collection.

Seemingly inspired by the Greco-Roman mythology, each item in the collection is fit for a goddess.

From Venus to Hera to Diana, the opulent collection made of chiffon and silk is both feminine and strong, just like the Greco-Roman godesses.

If we look at the modern woman, which is Finetti's target audience, the description of these mythical creatures as described by Ovid fits - intelligent, headstrong and a master of their own fate.

Have we gone full circle?

Chances are, yes we have. If that is the case, then Nicola Finetti is right on the mark for this collection.
