Famura Debut's Their Luxury Womenswear Collection for NYC's Fall 2004 Fashion Week
New York Fashion Week Fall 2004
DALLAS, Jan 28, 2004/ FW/ --- FAMURA is the innovative fashion label created by the gifted
emerging designers Naoki Kitamura and Grace Fung.
Their debut collection will hit the runway on Thursday, February 12th, 2004 at 4:00pm at
Splashlight Studios at 529 West 35th Street in New York City.
This designer duo's first ever FAMURAcollection is inspired by the symbolism of a mirror's
reflection and the ability to look within to improve ourselves and the world around us.
The world could be a more peaceful place if people understood themselves clearly and learned
to respect others on a deeper level.
FAMURA's desire for a peaceful existence is translated into art through fashion.
Throughout this collection, there are subliminal "mirror effects", communicated through
luxurious Italian fabrics and unique, intricate details.
One key piece of the collection is FAMURA's architectural bluish gray pantsuit, which
incorporates a "reflection effect" and a new twist on the women's suit.
Strappy cocktail dresses shine bright, sharp tailored jackets shape the body with perfection
and sleek modern coats are sprinkled throughout this ultra-feminine collection.
FAMURA masters the art of making complicated, geometric designs appear effortless, simple
and clean.
FAMURA is for women who like a little edge with their stylish upscale sensibility.
Shu Uemura, the prestigious cosmetics brand will be creating the makeup for FAMURA's
runway show and ITOEN, the upscale Japanese tea company, is providing cool tea beverages
for all the guests.
Last year, with his previous collection, Naoki Kitamura was one of the chosen few designers,
representing the United States, for the esteemed International Young Designers Fashion Contest
in Paris, France.
