NEW YORK, Feb 17, 2004/ FW/ --- Last week at the National Arts Club in Gramercy Park, Derek Lam created a bohemian glamour look using an eclectic mix of lush fabrics, tile prints and Swarovski crystals.

Drawing inspiration from turn of the century Vienna, Lam’s day dresses and eveningwear took a modern approach to haute embroidery and appliqués with Swarovski crystal adding drama and energy to the collection.

Standouts on the collection include a crystal mesh dress, floral lamé brocade camisole, quartz mosaic floral silk jacquard riding jacket and floral silk jacquard tulip skirt.

Integrating Swarovski crystal into the collection, the designer exquisitely created the effect of “jewelry on clothing” giving an opulent dimension to the collection.

"I wanted to use Swarovski crystal like jewelry on clothing. It's about decorating and layering and a real feeling for richness," the designer said on the press notes.
