Actress Finola Hughes Joins the Fashion Flock

Finola Hughes LOS ANGELES, CA, Aug 21, 2003/ FW/ --- Emmy® Award-winning actress Finola Hughes will unveil the latest fashion trends and show viewers how they can incorporate them into their everyday lives as the new host of Style Network's special daily coverage of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring Collections 2004.

The only network dedicated to the way you live your life, Style this fall will present coverage designed to decode and demystify the world of haute couture, making it attainable and accessible to all people, inspiring them to express their personal style in all aspects of their lives.

A fashion devotee, Ms. Hughes will lead the anchor duties, giving viewers a real life perspective of the happenings at Bryant Park during the week, empowering them to express their own personal style and improve their lives.

As the official broadcast television network of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Style will once again this season offer daily programming on Saturday, September 14 through Saturday, September 21, 2003 from 7 - 8 PM ET/PT.

Special coverage of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will also be broadcast on Style's one hour branded block on E! Entertainment Television seen daily from Sept 15-19 at 11 AM ET/PT.

"Finola Hughes is well-known around the world for her outstanding acting talent and incredible beauty," said Stephen Schwartz, senior vice president, programming, Style Network.

"We hope that her fans and lifestyle enthusiasts will take a new look at Finola in her new role as a host on Style Network."

"I'm thrilled to be joining the Style team," added Ms. Hughes.

"The network has given me the unique opportunity to enter the lifestyle genre, one of my passions, as part of Style's Fashion Week team. I look forward to delivering the latest fashion news in a way that is fun, accessible and relatable to Style viewers."

Longtime manager Peter Iannucci spearheaded the deal on behalf of Ms. Hughes.

From daily news from the tents and the latest fashion show footage and backstage interviews with designers, stylists and celebrities to trend forecasting, expert on-air commentary and real life reactions, Style will offer up its unique take on the Spring Collections.

Showing viewers how what they see on the catwalks can be incorporated into their everyday lives, Style will deliver the most comprehensive real life coverage from the Spring Collections 2004.

Ms. Hughes is joined by Lloyd Boston, who will provide fashion news and commentary.

Retro lifestyle diva Brini Maxwell, host of Style's soon to debut "The Brini Maxwell Show," will also be on hand to deliver additional coverage and "Behind the Velvet Ropes" host Lauren Ezersky will offer up the latest backstage news.

An accomplished and versatile actress, British-born Finola Hughes is most widely recognized for her portrayal of the mysterious Anna Devane on the ABC daytime drama "General Hospital" from 1985-92.

She returned to daytime in 1999 where she eventually resurrected her role as Anna Devane on ABC's "All My Children."

Her performance garnered her an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in 1991 as well as three additional nominations in the same category.

Ms. Hughes studied ballet beginning at the age of 10. In 1980 she originated the role of The White Cat, in the premiere company of the Andrew Lloyd Weber musical, "Cats."

Ms. Hughes made her American film debut when Sylvester Stallone cast her opposite John Travolta in "Stayin' Alive."

Other film work includes "The Nutcracker," "Soap Dish," "Aspen Extreme," "Above Suspicion," and "Tycus."

Her extensive list of television credits include "Jack's Place," "Blossom," "Pacific Palisades," "Charmed," "Dream On," and "Tracy Takes On.!"

A fashion aficionado, Ms. Hughes recently designed and launched her own jewelry line with Sol Rafael.
