DALLAS, Jan 23, 2005/ FW/ --- Right at the heels of a very successful 2004, Carmen Marc Valvo marks the sixteenth year of his eponymous label with a Fall 2005 collection inspired from the gilded era of waltzes by Johann Strauss and the paintings of John Singer Sargent.
Slated to unveil his collection on Wednesday, February 9th at 2:00 PM in the tents of New York’s Bryant Park, Carmen Marc Valvo is a true 7th Avenue success story starting his business with $10,000 and various credit cards.
His debut collection was presented in a borrowed showroom and he personally delivered the first order of 110 black cocktail dresses himself. But that was 1989.
In 2002, Neiman Marcus also presented Carmen Marc Valvo with "The Million Dollar Dress" award for designing the very first couture gown to garner $1 million in sales in the history of Neiman Marcus.
Today, the Carmen Marc Valvo lines include CMV by Carmen Marc Valvo, a new daytime dresses collection, Carmen Marc Valvo shoes and Carmen Marc Valvo Home, a premiere bed and bath linens line and a new swimwear line.
The main lines Carmen Marc Valvo Couture and Carmen Marc Valvo collection are the ones shown during New York Fashion Week.
