NEW YORK, Sep 11, 2004/ FW/ ---In Chelsea, in style, en vogue, last Thursday, September 9.
The beauty of women; their forms, their style, their joy and their glory captured by Annie Lebovitz, celebrated iconographer for the 50th birthday of the all American label Ann Taylor.
The evening, during Fashion Week, hosted by Vogue to honor the US commercial giant in womenswear for their ANNiversary saw guests sipping cocktails and snacking on hors d’ourvs while taking in a visual sensation of stunning portraits.
‘I Am Ann Taylor’, campaign slogan and lifestyle choice for women who nibble on subtlety and dine on classical chic.
“Ann Taylor,” the name of a dress shirt, for a design company, hence yes, she is purely fictional (there was never a designer named Ann Taylor), 50 or so years prior, simply wanted to dress women and do it well. They today have become an indispensable exemplar of commercial success and viable design vision.
Five autographed photographs that are part of the campaign put together by Creative Director Robert Lussier were silently auctioned off in support of breast cancer during the evening.
The idea to shoot women from ‘…all over, from every age, every place in life, reliving memories. Laughing. Hugging. Gossiping. Working together to create something. Something unique. Something to hold in your hand. To remember in your heart. Each of them at her zenith’ is months of work between Lussier and Lebovitz to combine the likes of Linda Evangelista, Twiggy, Erin O’Connor, Patti Hansen and another 46 amazing examples of women.
