New York Fashion Week Spring 2005

NEW YORK, Sep 10, 2004/ FW/ --- Influenced by the music of Kate Bush and the photographs of Francesca Woodman, Costello Tagliapietra presented a feminine collection of delicacies.
The soft-faced squad of models pumped the catwalk with sliming silhouettes in flowing fabrics. Using style details of cape sleeves and high wastes on long lines, was very reminiscent of the beautiful women whom once danced the night away at Studio 54.
Cowl and wrap dresses with tanks and low cut v-necks showed very sensual points on the female form. Hems hitting on the calf and barely snipping the ankle accented with a flare showed how Costello Tagliapietra is dressing a Lady and not just any woman.
The blends of fine cottons combined with man made fabrics gave the clothes a great stretch, which also assisted in the wonderful draping and ruffle details of the garments.
Costello Tagliapietra’s color pallete was not only pleasing to the eye but also stimulating to one’s sense of taste. By using natural colors of maize, melon, sage, apple green and chocolate brown allowed the details of the dresses to be seen without overcrowding the eye with bold colors. Other uneatable colors in the collection were in shades of gray, black and cement.
The overall feel of the collection was about soft beauty and elegance that was inspired by art of decades past. Gaining their inspiration from many genres of art, the duo design team allowed their creativity to rebirth traditional writings, photographs and psalms through fashion.
