NEW YORK, Feb 6, 2006/ FW/ --- The Winter Olympics starts on Friday, yet no one under the tents at Bryant Park had made any references to it. In fact, even Bogner, the German fashion house that had been outfitting the German Olympics ski team since 1936 did not mention it during its Fall 2006 presentation at their Manhattan showroom.

Of course, Bogner has a tendency not to brag about its achievements simply because they allow the clothes to do the talking. Sold in specialty stores all over the U.S., with product lines that include winter outerwear, sportswear, footwear, eyewear and accessories, it has a big following among the affluent, especially among the ski aficionados.

Fashion and function are the hallmarks of Bogner ski wear, wherein performance and ergonomics go hand in hand with refined aesthetics.

Beading and embroidery adorn fur-lined and weatherproof ski jackets that also feature zips and pockets for iPods and mobile phones.

High tech meets fashion sensibilities, wherein cargo-styled ski pants are ‘molded’ at the knees to insure authentic sports performance. Available in basic black and other solid colors for men, and animal prints and bright solid colors for women, off piste had become a catwalk showing off chicness and modishness while on skis.

Staying within the trends of the season, belted jackets with military influences, relaxed fit on trousers, rounded shoulders for outerwear with details like embroidery and appliqués sparingly used, Bogner has captured the zeitgeist of the fashionista set.
