Abaete Fall 2006: The Marcell
New York Fashion Week Fall 2006
By Randal Jacobs

Abaete NEW YORK, Feb 9, 2006/ FW/ --- One of the most stylish hairdos of all times is the Marcelle. The Marcell was the typical hairdo for the flapper women of the 30's. As each model sported a version of the Marcelle, the show began with classy quarter length sleeves and short hemlines. Velvet coats mixed with mini polka dot shirts were a cute touch.

The accessories were heavily rooted in and inspired by jewelry from the women of the Far East and Northern Africa. The earrings and neckpieces were all in gold with large ornamentations and intricate motifs.

The large barrel triple hoops and statement necklaces added that extra gift to the collection as a whole. Tassel hems, deep V-necks and robe ties made the satin dress capsule collection come to life.

The beautiful burgundy and midnight blue mixed in with hints of red belts and straps were staples. The heavily restrictive tights were very matched and thought out for each dress. A navy stretch cigarette pantsuit grabbed the greatest attention in midnight blue.

As the young and vibrant red haired designer took her well-deserved bow, Laura Poretzky had a deep sigh of relief on her face. If we do not see her at the tents next season we will at least be able to buy her creations in stores.
