Jennifer Nicholson and Jeremy Scott Join The Roster For The New York Spring 2006 Season

NEW YORK, Aug 23, 2005/ FW/ --- Both are based in Los Angeles, both are darlings of the Hollywood crowd and both of them are showing during the upcoming New York Spring 2006 season!
Jennifer Nicholson calls Los Angeles home and is the daughter of Jack. Her work has received international acclaim; her collection sells out of Fred Segal and celebrities heavily attend her shows. Last season Avon paid $30,000 to sponsor her show and Coca Cola provided $25,000 for a tee shirt design.
Born in Kansas, trained in Paris, Jeremy Scott was named number 31 in the Face’s ‘Most Important People in Fashion’ issue, ranking higher than McQueen and Stella McCartney. Jeremy’s shows are filled with celebrities and the coverage always includes - The International Herald Tribune, La Republica, The Telegraph in London and many more. Michel Gaubert oversees Music he is Gucci and Chanel¹s music director. Joanne Blades styles the show. Models are A-List and the girls line up to do the show. The Hair & Make-up is always a stand out.
That’s the good news! The great news is that Jennifer Nicholson and Jeremy Scott are joined by six more emerging designers who will all show their latest collections at the Altman Building, located at 135 West 18th St., between 6th and 7th Avenues.
Costello Tagliapietra
This Brooklyn based duo won last year’s prestigious Ecco Domani Award. They have a 100% sell through at Fred Segal and have been featured in Vogue, Elle and Harper¹s Bazaar twice.
Kai (Myself)
Last season As Four separated and lead designer Kai Kuhne stepped out on his own, People’s Revolution left with him. He will launch his own collections this forthcoming season, aptly called ‘Myself’. Bjork and Chloe Sevigny are die-hard fans. The show is colorful and one of the headliners of New York Fashion Week.
Afshin Feiz
This will be the second collection for Paris based and Canadian born Afshin Feiz. Feiz spent years as the first assistant to Christian Lacroix. Last season rocker turned photographer Bryan Adams shot his lookbook, while Imitation of Christ founder Matthew Damhave lent a hand to styling. Throughout the season Feiz has accrued a celebrity clientele including Katie Holmes and Liz Hurley. New York socialites such as Zani Gugelmann and Olivia Chantecaille attend his shows.
Zaldy
This Chelsea Hotel resident is an international icon that has walked the catwalk for Thierrey Mugler and Jean Paul Gaultier. He currently designs the L.A.M.B. collection for Gwen Stefani in addition to his signature line. Downtown icon Suzanne Bartsch helps with the guest list while Zaldy recruits his Supermodel friends to walk for free. His shows are always full of spirit and the coverage is phenomenal. This season Ms. Stefani will be in the front row.
Shelly Steffee
An emerging talent, Shelly Steffee holds court in her signature boutique in the Meatpacking District, a space she pioneered. Previously Shelly was the lead designer for Anne Klein. Her celebrity clientele includes Joss Stone, Mischa Barton and Natalie Portman.
Rachel Comey
At 32 years old, Rachel Comey is an international darling. Her Men’s and Women’s collections are sold throughout the world in key markets such as Milan, Paris, London, New York and Tokyo. She sells Barneys New York and dresses some of the world¹s coolest people including: Adrian Brody, Beck, Christina Ricci, Courtney Love, Claire Danes and more.
A La Disposition
Husband and wife team Daniel Kinne and Lynda Cohen are professors at the
Parsons School of Design. The duo teaches the Art of Historic Corsetry. Mr. Kinne is also a Saville Row trained tailor. Their unparalleled knowledge of fashion history plays a leading role in their collections that are stunning and formidable.
