Altman Building: More Than An Offsite Venue For the New York Spring 2006 Season
New York Fashion Week Spring 2006
By: Mari Davis

DALLAS, Aug 24, 2005/ FW/ --- Built between 1905 and 1914, the historic Altman Building was the large-scale department store on Fifth Avenue comprising a whole New York City block.

In September, during the Spring 2006 New York fashion season, history will be made once more at this landmark site as it becomes a venue for independent catwalk shows featuring at least 9 designers – Rachel Comey, Zaldy, Jennifer Nicholson, Costello Tagliapietra, A La Disposition, Jeremy Scott, Morgane Le Fay, Afshin Feiz, Kai Kune “Myself” and Shelley Steffe.

Organized by People’s Revolution and sponsored by Sebastian for hair & make up together with Flybook for computers and IT support, the Altman Building shows provides a venue for young and cutting edge designers.

“There will be a VIP Lounge and refreshments provided at the site,” says Sandra Schafer of People’s Revolution. “Last season was just a warm up. For Spring 2006, this is the real thing!” she added.

With plans of making this a seasonal event, the Altman Building provides an alternative venue for up and coming designers. And with People’s Revolution’s renowned organizational prowess, it also becomes a very attractive option.
