Libertine designers Johnson Hartig and Cindy Greene sent cocktail dresses to Bermuda shorts, hooded sweatshirts to tuxedo style jackets all embellished with sequined charlotte’s web design, making sure that everyone is ready to go out, party and have a good time.

Why not be daring, different and edgy without taking the sweet and sexy away from it all.

Several pieces were even shown with the caption “Drink Old England Dry” that worked with the theme due to the clever embellishments surrounding the ensemble.

Mixing luxe fabrics such as lace, tulle and leather, with the more plebian checks, floral prints and polka dots, it was the East coast meeting the West Coast, echoing the bi-coastal collaboration of the design duo that were 2004 Ecco Domani winners.

Strange as it may sound, Johnson Hartig and Cindy Greene always manage to produce exquisite clothing though they are geographically apart.

Hartig who is based in Los Angeles visits different places tracking used clothing that he deconstructs and then reconstructs, adding his own elements. He then sends it to Cindy Greene, a graphic artist who lives in New York City.

Greene adds her hand on the garment using tried techniques in graphic arts such as silk screening and heat transfers, using 19th century images as basis.

The result, a very unique aesthetic and details, such as the duo’s Spring 2006 collection that features sequined charlotte’s web with the addition of ruching, pleats, rolled up hemline, and ruffles, the best detail being strings of Swarovski crystals that took bling bling to a whole new level.
