LOS ANGELES, Jan 21, 2007/ FW/ --- Los Angeles based eveningwear designer, Tadashi Shoji, announces the inaugural presentation of his luxury collection during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week on Sunday, February 4th at 11 am at the Promenade in Bryant Park, New York City.
An established designer in the West Coast, Tadashi has quietly become one of the leading special occasion brands with a celebrity clientele including Shakira, Vanessa Williams and Jennifer Hudson over the past 26 years.
With the launch of Tadashi Shoji, the brand’s new luxury eveningwear collection, the company begins its move into new categories that include ready-to-wear and home – both domestically and internationally.
Tadashi is currently available at the company’s retail boutiques in South Coast Plaza and the Forum Shops at Caesars, as well as better specialty boutiques and department stores such as Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Nordstrom.
The Fall 2007 Tadashi Shoji collection will feature feminine, romantic and timeless silhouettes in rich and luxurious fabrics. While the core of the collection highlights the designer’s trademark draping and design techniques, Shoji expands his design vocabulary with exquisite handwork, weaving and braiding details reminiscent of haute couturiers. The new collection will be available by request and special order, with a full commercial collection targeted to top luxury retailers worldwide in Spring 2008.
Under the leadership of new Chief Operating Officer, Lockie Andrews, Tadashi has embarked on a strategic marketing campaign designed to elevate the image of the brand; that includes the presentation of the new luxury collection at Bryant Park and a national advertising campaign appearing in Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and other major publications. As well, Andrews will capitalize on the brand’s popularity with Hollywood celebrities and New York social elite by strengthening ties to both communities.
Designer Tadashi Shoji felt it an auspicious time to launch a high-end line to appeal to his sophisticated clientele in need of eveningwear with exceptional fit and fabrication. “With this collection, I wanted to take the fantasy from the runway and make it attainable for every woman to express her femininity. The versatility of the collection is in the wearable nature of each piece,” said Shoji.
