NEW YORK, Aug 21, 2006/ FW/ --- Celebrating its second year under the tents at Bryant Park, ‘UPS Delivering Fashion’s Future’ presented the 2006 awardees to the press and fashion elite last Tuesday, September 15, here in New York.

As the after work cocktail party kicked off at the famous Thompson Hotel in Soho, everyone was able to mingle and meet 8 out of the 10 notable designers.

The rooftop garden was crowded with buyers, stylists and editors ready to meet and greet the emerging talents. This year’s participants include Alice Ritter, Brian Reyes, Erin Fotherson, Michon Schur by Stephanie Schur, Sabyasachi by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Sari Gueron, Terexov by Alexander Terekhov, Toni Maticevski, Vena Cava by Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai, Verrier by Ashleigh Verrier.

All of them will be presenting their Spring 2007 collection at the UPS Hub, a catwalk specifically constructed for UPS Delivering Fashion’s Future.

As the PR director and president of UPS started to formally announce the young designers, clean freshly pressed UPS deliverymen arrived with soft leather messengers bag to give to the designers.

Watching the young designers, one could see the appreciation and sheer joy in the fact that they are the new wave of fashion's future. UPS is taking them to the next level by subsiding the venue, lights and production for presenting their designs before international press and buyers.

Without the sponsorship, many of these designers could never have the financial backing to promote their lines in such a way.

As Doo.Ri, one of last year’s young designers, stood up to say some remarks you could see how her fashion line as well as her have blossomed, flourished and developed through the majestic funding from UPS.

We are all now waiting for the next success story discovered by the United Parcel Service.
