NEW YORK, Sep 15, 2006/ FW/ --- Showing last Tuesday at Nokia Theater’s Red Bull Designer’s Pavilion, Roberto Crivello and Savania Davies Keiller, the design duo behind DDCLab unveiled a very modern and urban array of apparel meant for the twenty-something generation.
Known for their use of high-tech fabric and ergonomic design for clothing, DDCLab’s catwalk presentation highlighted both its men’s and women’s collections.
Opening with a printed linen vintage cut blazer worn over rose raw silk elongated skirt, then following it up with a front pleated down skirt matched with a rose raw silk ruffled tank top, Crivello and Keiller immediately set the tone for romantic touches, that will eventually be seen in the whole collection.
Hoodies, cargo pants, paneled dresses and minis for women and wide-legged trousers, hoodies and plaid blazers for men, the collection will be at home in any major metropolis in the world.
Women’s clothes are sexy with a touch of naughtiness, men’s clothes are masculine including the multiple varieties of prints shown – everything is contemporary and decidedly urban, the fashion vision that DDCLab fans have come to expect from Crivello and Savania.
Changing venues from the tents (they showed at Bryant Park last season) to the Red Bull Designer’s Pavilion was a good move for DDCLab. The high-tech stage of moving plexi-panels complemented their style.
And judging from the attendees, DDCLab did not mind taking that walk to Times Square either. Michael Antony Hall of USA’s ‘Dead Zone’ sat front row.
