NEW YORK, Sep 15, 2006/ FW/ --- For Spring/Summer 2007 the father and son design team of Manuel once again brought the Tent down at Bryant Park with another full on rock and roll showdown on the runway.

Taking the inspiration from the 1961 movie “One Eyed Jack” with Marlon Brando, which is also a reflection of Ole California, the Monterrey Peninsula and Senora as mentioned in his press notes, a well thought out and a very well executed collection and theme, “The Legend Continues.”

Combining the Western and Spanish cultures is Manuel’s best inspiration, however he certainly gave it a very modern look and feel to it.

He also recreated the first gold lamé jacket he created for Elvis Presley, again with that certain Manuel oomph factor. One was shown in gold double lapel jacket worn with vintage wash torn skinny denim jean with leather detail and the other, in a silver lamé ruffle front shirt over denim jean with sequins and Swarovski crystal camouflage pattern detail.

With Manuel’s frequent use of roses in his pieces, this time, the rose means so much more to the designer and his collection since he made several “Sixty-Five Roses” items for this season to raise awareness and funds toward a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.

With Sixty-Five Roses actually a derivative of Cystic Fibrosis from the mouths of babes who has a difficult time saying the word. With such an inspiration, it certainly made an impact on this collection for it is good as ever.

Besides the jackets, Manuel offers various types of denim and leather in different washes and embellishments, as well as mini skirts and shorts, dresses and evening gowns. With silhouettes for both women and men alike, the designer does it exquisitely.

A very well deserved standing ovation is what the Manuel collection and designers received at the end of the show once again as in their last showing at Bryant Park.
