NEW YORK, Sep 19, 2002/ FW/ --- The Spring 2003 season of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week kicks off with a
noble cause.
In a press conference last Tuesday, the CFDA and Iman, this year's
spokesperson for Fashion Targets Breast Cancer (FTBC) announced the Fashion Targets Breast
Cancer / Saks Fifth Avenue Shopping Weekend to benefit FTBC.
Founded in 1994, FTBC -- a charitable initiative of the CFDA -- has netted $20 million for
breast cancer causes.
For the fourth consecutive year, Saks Fifth Avenue will host its annual
nationwide shopping weekend to benefit FTBC, as well as other local and national
breast cancer organizations.
This charity-driven shopping weekend takes place in
all of Saks Fifth Avenue's 61 stores across the country, as well as in the 51
OFF 5th outlet stores and saks.com, from September 18th-21st. Mercedes-Benz USA
is generously underwriting all of these events across the U.S.

Fashion Targets Breast Cancer initiative.
Several leading CFDA designers created special merchandise, which will be
sold during the Shopping Weekend to benefit FTBC. Coach, Inc., created a limited
edition of its new Gallery Tote for this cause, using the colors of the FTBC
logo.
Other FTBC products available this year include a charm bracelet designed
by famed jewelry designer Robert Lee Morris, with additional charms created by
Stephen Dweck, Diane von Furstenberg, Lisa Jenks, and Betsey Johnson, and of
course, the ever-popular FTBC T-shirt.
This year's T-shirt, designed by Ralph
Lauren, is a navy and white 3/4 length sleeve cotton Lycra(R) blend tee with the
FTBC logo in the center.
This year also marks the beginning of an international partnership between
Fashion Targets Breast Cancer and DuPont Lycra(R) to globalize the FTBC
charitable initiative.
Currently FTBC is produced in six countries -- Australia,
Brazil, Canada, Greece, the United Kingdom and the United States. FTBC Lycra(R)
campaigns have already begun in the United Kingdom and will soon be underway in
China and Turkey.
