Paris Pręt-á-Porter Fall 2005
By Mari Davis

PARIS, Mar 7, 2005/ FW/ --- Today marks the end of the Fall 2005 international fashion season. Hundreds of runway shows & presentations, thousands of frames of photographs taken, and a lot of sleepless nights were spent to bring you the news.

In May, the Spring 2006 season unofficially starts as Sydney Fashion Week commences, while the official kick off happens in June when menswear designers unveil their Spring 2006 collections during the Milan Menswear Show.

As the fashion flock goes on hibernation for about a week to catch up on lost sleep, the accessories season is beginning to heat up as fashion houses prepare to show their wares in April.

Happening in New York, Milan and Paris at the same time, the accessories season, though it does not get as much press coverage as the fashion weeks is as vital and as important as the pręt-a-porter shows.

So, the question is… is there really an alpha and omega in terms of the fashion season. Does it really end, or does it just take a break?

To quote Einstein, “everything is relative.” And though his Theory of Relativity probably does not even remotely apply, time and space continuum in fashion is as complex as the one in science.
