PARIS, Jan 25, 2005/ FW/ --- On the second day of the season rumors abound that this is going to be Christian Lacroix’s last haute couture show.
As already had been reported LVMH has put Maison Christian Lacroix on the block, with Miami-based Falic Group as the next owners. By this act alone, the fashion house was placed certain uncertainties.
In a press release by Miami-based Company, Simon Falic, CEO of the Falic Group gave an assurance of his company’s commitment to the development of the Christian Lacroix brand.
Even with this assurance, there leaves a lot of doubt if the new owners will be willing to continue a couture line due to the historically dwindling couture clientele.
If the rumor is true then the couture world will lose one of its stalwarts and stars. And once again it will be another sad for in the fashion world
Meanwhile in Milan, the Prada group had confirmed the resignation of Helmut Lang from the fashion house that bears his name.
Rumor of his resignation surfaced last week in Italy’s second largest city during the height of the city menswear season
According to the announcement, a team of designers in the atelier will design the fall 2005 womenswear collection that will be presented in Paris in March.
Helmut Lang had cancelled his menswear show in Paris in an announcement last month.
