PARIS, Jan 26, 2005/ FW/ --- With temperature hovering at 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 degrees Celsius) and the wind chill factor bringing it below freezing, the last day of the haute couture season was kept warm by the dazzling creations of Franck Sorbier, Jean Paul Gaultier, Dominique Sirop, Stephane Roland for Jean Louis Scherrer and Elie Saab.

And although everything was lovely, and just drop dead gorgeous, I would have to confess that my favorite was Jean Paul Gaultier’s show as the reigning king of French fashion brought the French Caribbean to life with totem masks inspired gowns that included a bride carrying a bigger than life voodoo mask.

There was just one deucy moment in the whole affair, and it was not Jean Paul Gaultier’s fault! It was NAOMI CAMPBELL’s!!!

Giggling and laughing on the catwalk, the supermodel diva almost marred the solemn elegance of the collection. Thank goodness that Jean Paul Gaultier’s silent voice through his spellbinding creations was stronger and only a very small section of the audience notice.

Thank goodness that Jean Paul Gaultier has the capacity to truly enthrall or the inappropriate actions of Naomi Campbell would have garnered her boos.

But all’s well ends well, and Jean Paul Gaultier received a deafening applause and standing ovation!
