PARIS, Jan 25, 2005/ FW/ --- Norwegian designer Lillian Aulie Schjoll made her entry into the exclusive world of haute couture with her first couture collection presented at Norway’s embassy located in Paris’ chic 8th Arrondissement.
Not only is the Norwegian beauty one of a number of women entering the male dominated world of haute couture, but also she represents her country as one of the growing number of foreign designers seeking its elusive recognition.
Scholl gets a well-deserved honorable mention for this collection. I give to the designer my greatest compliments for her wedding dress. Both light and right for today’s woman, the dress is short and done in ivory leather, lace and muslin and worn with a big 17th century hat. I particularly like the wedding cane, as it is a break from the traditional wedding bouquet. It is long and white and has the flowers mounted on to it.
With a spirit of libertinage, her collection of 22 lady-like models was presented by 7 experienced models. Through them, Schjoll was able to communicate the lively essence of her creations well embedded in the elegance of the late 17th Century.
