And, although some will be going to Los Angeles, Sydney, Moscow, Kuala Lumpur or even Bali, Indonesia to cover the said city’s fashion week, for most of the fashion press corps, the ‘season is already in the can’ as they say in Hollywood.

After being on the road for two and a half months and living in a suitcase with only the name of the hotel changing, finally it is time to go home.

For this journalist, that means flying back to Dallas and getting 8 hours of sleep for the first time in 10 weeks. And though I look forward attending every fashion season, I would also be lying if I say that I don’t get homesick.

I miss home cooked meals, I miss watching my favorite TV shows and I miss seating in my favorite chair reading a book. But, most of all, I miss my little Welsh corgi lying by my feet keeping my tootsies warm.

The Jean Paul Gautier catwalk preview made me think of my dog a lot. Those lovable canines on the runway actually competed with the models in terms of beauty in my eyes. Of course, I’m biased like most dog lovers are. Still, I have to confess that between Maria Carla and the poodle she was ‘walking,’ I’ll choose giving the poodle a hug over her.

And although I still have two days in Paris left to visit the showrooms, I am ready to go home to take my little Welsh corgi for a walk on a ‘green runway’ called a playground.
