PARIS, May 31, 2006/ FW/ --- The tentative schedule released by the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture before France’s national holiday marked the return of Carven and Eyméric François in the official haute couture calendar.

The historic house of Carven, established in 1945 by Madame Carven, wife of Swiss industrialist Réné Grog (1896-1981), originally catered to the petite woman. The company changed hands several times, resulting to a change of direction.

Showing off calendar for the past several seasons, the House of Carven, which had been under the creative helm of Pascal Millet since 2002 will unveil its Fall 2006 haute couture collection on Friday, July 7, 2006.

Eyméric François started in haute couture by accident. During the Dinar Festival, wherein the then aspiring designer enter, he showed 7 exquisite pieces that got the judges all agog. Half of them wanted to give him the first prize while the other half was against it.

The reason, the Dinar Festival is ready-to-wear, and what Eyméric François showed were ‘couture pieces’ according to the judges.

In recognition of his work, LVMH created a special award for him that provided the young designer enough capital to start a couture house.
