The first day of the season, which is historically given to emerging designers Yohji Yamamoto on the roster. An unexpected move by the famed Japanese designer, who just last week wowed the New York crowd with his superbly produced show, Y-3 at Wall Street, is a welcome name on the list for the first day wherein a lot of fashion journalists skip just to take a breather from the very often hectic Milan season.

With Yohji Yamamoto showing during the first day, more journalists can be expected to cover the first day of the Paris season.

On Monday, the second day of the show, Viktor & Rolf, another favorite among the fashion press is slated to show at 7:30 PM. A bolt from the blue on the ‘off calendar’ is Paco Rabanne. Historically showing on the official calendar, the historic fashion house chose to show at the Ateliers Berthier and opted an off calendar listing.

The third day, Tuesday is when the big fashion houses dominate the roster beginning with Balenciaga that is scheduled for 9:30 AM. Junya Watanabe, Vivienne Westwood, Girbaud, Issey Miyake, Jean Paul Gaultier, Comme Des Garcons, Costume National and Christian Dior make up the list on the official calendar.

Another revelation on the calendar – Christian Dior is showing at the Grand Palais located at Avenue General Eisenhower! In fact, Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent are also scheduled to show there.

New on the official calendar roster is the New Zealand Designers, a group show featuring design talents from the country. It will be held at the New Zealand Embassy, a very fitting venue on the last day, October 10.
