Christophe Josse Haute Couture Spring 2006: A Pleasant Surprise
Paris Haute Couture Spring 2006

PARIS, Jan 24, 2006/ FW/ --- After leaving Torrente, Christophe Josse seemed to have hidden away from the fashion circle, surfacing last season with the launch of his own haute couture label. And tonight, his debut on the couture’s official calendar turned out to be a pleasant surprise.
Showing 15 silhouettes, Christophe Josse showed that he learned a lot while he was at Torrente, emphasizing femininity with clothes that caress the body of the woman.
With woman’s figure taking center stage, Josse sent gold filigree embroidery on organza that looked so fragile, the model looked like she was floating instead of walking.
A trench coat with veined stitching, divided by gores and godets with crochet embroidery at the waist that also served as the faux belt was both creative and functional.
The silhouette was slim, even when Josse played with volume using accordion pleats and layering with fabric.
It was a pleasant surprise, as the real Christophe Josse was seen in his creations, far from the parameters of design set by the House of Torrente.
And though it was an abbreviated collection, Josse received a resounding round of applause from an appreciative audience who finally saw the real Christophe.
