DALLAS, Jun 4, 2007/ FW/ --- In a break from tradition, the Paris Haute Couture Fall 2007 season is being held with the 4th of July right in the middle, feeding fuel to the rumors that the list of U.S. couture clients are dwindling in numbers.

Traditionally, the Paris haute couture season is held after the 4th of July, the US Independence Day because Americans tend to spend the holiday at home. Last January, whispers started that the bulk of couture clients are now from the Middle East, and they have replaced the influential American contingency at the shows.

Because couture houses are very secretive in terms of who are in their client list, there was no way to verify these rumors. So, with the Fall 2007 haute couture season schedule, once again, there is a buzz that perhaps there is some truth about that rumor.

Still, it should be taken into consideration that the fashion season actually starts early, beginning with the Milan and Paris Menswear seasons. And, if we fast forward the international fashion calendar, New York, which kicks off women’s ready-to-wear is also opening early.

Slated from Wed Sep 5 – Wed Sep 12, 2007, New York is also breaking from tradition, starting one week earlier than usual and holding it from Wednesday to Wednesday, instead of Friday to Friday.

As already have been mentioned here at FashionWindows, fashion is on the verge of change. Though the changes in the calendar do not make it a gospel truth, it should be treated symptomatic of the transformation.

Below is the TENTATIVE Paris Haute Couture Fall 2007 schedule. It is still SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
