PARIS, Jun 1, 2006/ FW/ --- After seeing Elijah Wood donning a Dior Homme all-black shiny two-button suit at the Cannes Film Festival, seeing that Hedi Slimane chose to keep Dior Homme’s regular time slot in the official calendar brought smiles to his fans.
After all, seeing the Gaspard Ulliel, Lou Taylor Pucci, Shawn Ashmore and Ben Foster wearing Dior Homme just whets the fans appetite for Hedi’s creations.
Of course, with 48 names on the official calendar alone, the upcoming Paris Menswear Spring 2007 season is again a record-breaking list.
With 0044 kicking of the season, Number (N)ine, Rykiel Homme, Yohji Yamamoto, Issey Miyake, Louis Vuitton, John Galliano and Stephan Schneider makes the first day, June 30th, a ‘must-attend’ day for the fashion press.
Day 2, July 1st brings Junya Watanabe Man, Armand Basi, Jean Paul Gaultier, Romain Kremer, Pierre-Henri Mattout, Kris Van Assche, Comme Des Garcons, Dirk Schonberger, Dries Van Noten and Raf Simons center stage.
The third day, Sunday, July 2nd, which by the way is also the ‘hump day’ the U.S. vernacular for the ‘middle of the week’, lists Rick Owens, Masatomo, Paul & Joe, Ann Demeulemeester, Bernhard Willhelm, Yves Saint Laurent, Paul Smith, Kim Jones, Wendy & Jim and Hermes.
Monday, July 3rd is exciting with Lanvin, Jereon Van Tuyl, Agnes B, Petar Petrov, Gaspard Yurkievich, Francesco Smalto, Gieves, Wooyoungmi, Henri Vibskov and Moritz Rogosky on the calendar.
The last day, July 4th is packed with a punch with Vier, Dormeuil Par Pierre Henri Mattout, Thierry Mugler Homme, Cardin, Givenchy, Ute Ploier, Francois Hadaya, Dior Homme and R.T. Par Ramdane Touhami.
