News: Paris Haute Couture Show Spring 2001

Fashion & Passion
By: Boyd Davis

DALLAS, Jan 25, 2001/ FW/ --- From high tech to romance, from cartoons to PG looks, the Paris Haute Couture Show was filled with fashion and passion.

Karl Lagerfeld went for nostalgia and went back to Chanel's early years. Focusing on the pure line of the female form, and the result was a seductive silhouette.

Christian Lacroix showed that fashion can also be high-tech, getting his inspiration from computer-generated geometrics for prints. He even created the client look list pixel by pixel, literally, using a computer.

John Galliano as always came out with a dramatic show, getting his inspiration from cartoon characters and made models walk the runway in tribes. The result - clothes with great sex appeal.

At Versace, Donatella Versace also went for the female form. This time, she showed hips! Alluring and sensual collection.

And at YSL, fashion mixed with politics. No, it's not old Dubya, but the rivaly between YSL and Tom Ford showed on the runway and also in the seating arrangement!
